"Bus Stop", written by Pulitzer prize winning playwright William Inge in 1955, is the inaugural play for Beaverton Civic Theatre's 2011 season. The play: a romantic comedy set in a diner in rural Kansas. The premise: travelers stranded during a severe snow storm and how they interact while stuck at the diner.The play, adapted for the big screen in 1956, and staring Don Murray, Marilyn Monroe and Arthur O'Connell, received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations in 1957.
Beaverton Civic Theatre's opening is Friday, March 4 @ 8:00 pm at the Beaverton City Library auditorium. Opening night is also Community Partnership Night with New Friends of the Beaverton City Library, where the donation of a new or used book admits patrons for $5.
